Job Description:
This individual would be responsible for applying the principles and practices of software quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. Through testing, analysis, and observation, this particular individual not only ensures that requirements and standards have been met and processes and procedures followed but also that evidence of unwanted changes/defects have been reported and eliminated and the system retested accordingly. This individual should be familiar with a variety of testing techniques and tools as well as with various types of testing and their purpose and role in the development lifecycle. This individual is responsible for establishing testing guidelines and creating or modifying test deliverables, such as plans, test cases/scripts, reports, and evaluations.
  • Promote total quality throughout the entire SDLC, from Requirements to Release Management and support, recommending and implementing best practices.
  • Perform comprehensive test planning that includes requirements analysis, functionality, performance, high availability, scalability, error handling and boundary conditions. Identify missing test scenarios and refine existing automation. Estimate and prioritize work for optimal risk mitigation.
  • Execute automated and manual testing of features to ensure they meet high quality levels. Utilize defect tracking tool to log and track defects and feature requests. Verify that fixes for defects and new features work as expected and do not cause regressions in affected areas. Verify that new functionality is properly communicated to end users via documentation. Utilize test management tool to track test cases, test executions, and progress reporting.
  • Perform integration and end-to-end testing which requires thorough understanding of architectural designs.
  • Work with product owners, developers, and quality analysts to support QA processes.
  • Utilize object-oriented methodologies to write automated tests before, during, and after feature development. Investigate, develop, and integrate with existing infrastructure new frameworks, utilities, and test tools.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with developers.
  • Responsible for ensuring project estimates and schedules are created.
  • Seek innovative solutions to problems and make recommendations for implementations.
  • Positive migration from initial mentoring and guidance of senior resources toward self-guided and self-directed contribution to Software Quality
  • Assurance Team and the companys objectives.
  • Continuing development of teamwork and interpersonal skills, effectively promoting the companys objectives and culture without sacrificing personal career enhancement.
  • Maintain high level of personal presentation standards and business dress.
  • Remain self-motivated, show initiative (i.e. be proactive), and focus on solutions (i.e. problem solving methodology).
