| Job Description: |
Job Objective
Responsible for working closely with the users by providing support for their functional and technical issues; and will demonstrate a commitment to working through complex problems and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy with a strong user satisfaction focus.
The job responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Evaluate user needs and systems’ functionalities to ensure that business functions’ requirements are addressed efficiently
- Plan, assign, supervise and review the work of software engineers engaged in the design, development, implementation, modification, testing and maintenance of business applications
- Assess system performance and efficiency relating to both current performance and future workload requirements.
- Create and maintain project plans with milestones supporting assigned projects
- Manage Software Change Management Plans supporting the project plans
- Plan, schedule and perform the implementation of new or updated versions of software systems to assure smooth transition
- Support less experienced systems programmers in the definition and solution of especially difficult problems.
- Conduct formal and informal training of junior personnel
- Ensure proper application control is in place and in compliance with both the regulatory, internal and external auditing requirements
- Evaluate and execute system enhancement, reporting and data extract requests from business users
- Identify and plan training of junior staff members to ensure their motivation & up-building
- Perform business feasibility study, requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance as and when needed Project Related: 40 Support Related: 60
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification
- Minimum Bachelors in Information Technology or in Computer Science with emphasis on Software Engineering from a reputable university.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in systems programming.
- Must be hands-on in software design & development
- Extensive knowledge of the concepts, characteristics, and capabilities of large-scale computer and multiple platform operations and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of current developments and techniques in systems programming
- Ability to lead & guide junior staff technically and administratively
- Strong project management/business management skills
- The ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast paced environment.
- Highly motivated with an interest in extremely complex problem solving
- Willing to travel across country as required in the course of business requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization
Duration and Nature of Previous Experience
- Have a minimum of 6 years experience in a similar environment.
