Job/ Position Summary
Responsible to conduct activities and provide technical solutions/expertise for LAN and WAN infrastructure. Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring highly available, optimized & secured network infrastructure, implement site IT infrastructure projects & engage in advanced technology project implementations as needed.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS (Specific Accountabilities)
1) Plan, Design & Implement enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, VoIP & wireless) as per the requirement of the business
2) Manage and administer the various deployed networking technologies within the Data Center & office campus, while ensuring 24/7 availability.
3) Implement project site IT network infrastructure as and when required
4) Implement & monitor strategies agreed by higher management in regards with disaster recovery & high availability.
5) Evaluate, implement & monitor security vulnerabilities & threats as per recognized standards (ISO 270001, CISSP)
6) Evaluate and suggest technologies which would enhance the IT network infrastructure & security capabilities while meeting business requirement. Must submit solution design, scope & business impact for proposals and after project approval should prepare implementation, resource & procurement plan.
7) Coordinate and assist the network infrastructure procurement process, including evaluating suppliers, negotiating deals, etc
8) Establish, formulate and monitor SLAs & OLAs (& other contracts) with ISPs to ensure compliance and maximum service availability (24/7)
9) Supervise and provide guidance to site projects/maintenance works being carried by network engineers
10) Coordinate and assist in annual IT auditing activities. Ensure auditing compliance and prepare quarterly auditing reports.
11) Coordinate with various infrastructure section heads/team members in order to troubleshoot network related issues
12) Perform daily monitoring activities for core switches, data center switches, VoIP, wireless, WAN devices & WAN links as per the approved functional checklist
13) Log all network incidents into the Help Desk system and escalate issues to relevant personnel as needed, ensure all tickets are closed as per procedure.
14) Coordinate & assist the relevant project team during deployment of new services, new project sites & other IT projects
15) Prepare design documents, weekly/monthly/critical event & project reports as instructed by the Network Section Head.
16) Provide relevant training to network engineers & technical support team as & when needed
17) Mainly work in the areas of Configuration, Change, Problem, Availability, Capacity, Project, Service Level, Information Security, Asset, Operations, Release and Deployment management of the ITIL framework.
18) Perform other duties of a comparable level as assigned.

Provide supervision/guidance to network engineers/technical support team for projects & maintenance works
COMMUNICATION REQUIRED
Include inter- and/or intra-departmental personnel to exchange information, coordinate work, answer questions and respond to complaints regarding hardware and desktop application complaints. Communicate/Coordinate with suppliers & consultants in order to get relevant information.

Service Availability: Total network uptime vs downtime (planned & unplanned)
Time: Measure the average time taken to resolve a problem
Achievement of Targets: Projects deliverable & usefulness to the IT infrastructure/business
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
May be required to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Be available on call 24/7 for critical troubleshooting or services downtime issues
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Four year graduate degree in computer engineering/science or 3 year degree in computer science with relevant certifications (CCIE/JNCIE/similar)
Related Experience:
Total 8 years’ exp. with at least 3 years as Sr. Network Administrator/Network Administrator in a network infrastructure supporting 3000+ users
Essential hands-on skills – Advanced network technologies’ (check core technical skill set below)
Fluency in English and/or Arabic language.
