| Job Description: |
| The System Engineer is primarily responsible for installing, creating and maintaining linux windows templates, this also included bundled templates e.g LAMP, WAMP, SQL, Sharepoint, Exchange, SCCM etc. Additionally, this position will lead internal projects focused on continuous improvement, platform security, and ongoing maintenance. A good candidate will be experienced in architecture for high availability, geographically diverse applications, and data centers.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following - Lead design, implementation, and maintenance plans for a multi-site, highly scalable linux and windows environment
- Evaluate, document, and recommend services, hardware, products and services
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows, Linux, and network equipment in production data centers
- Lead continuous improvement processes to ensure we stay ahead of growth needs, implement best practices, and refactor legacy systems
- Participates in on-call rotation to provide 24x7x365 support
Desired Skills and Experience - 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator for a windows linux deployments
- 3+ years of proven experience architecting windows environments / IIS / SQL / Sharepoint / Active Directory, SCCM , Exchange server in a production environment
- 3+ years of experience with any Linux O/S, LAMP stack,
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V, and Amazon Web Services
- Experience with networking technologies, including routing, switching, and load balancing; with the ability to understand complex TCP/IP issues
- Very strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to restore services quickly for our customers
- Ability to do scripting in a language such as: PowerShell, BASH, or Python
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to produce high quality documentation and presentations
Expertise in the following technologies. - Cloud Computing Software
- VMware Stack:
- Hypervisors
- Networking technologies
- Rack and blade server solutions
- Familiarity with
- Disaster recovery solutions
- SaaS, IaaS offerings
- Cloud Security implementation
- Cloud Orchestration
- Analytics and using this data to dimension/expand/plan cloud resources
- Cloud or Virtualization certifications is a plus
- Excellent communication skills (English). US customer experience is a plus
Note: This is a permanently Night Shift based position, timings are 8pm-5am |
