The USAID Training for Pakistan Project is implementing the “Energy Sector Internship Program”. The six-month paid Internship Program for 150 interns is planned to start in May 2015 in collaboration with energy sector entities across the country. PKR 15,000 per month will be paid to the interns.
The objective of the Internship Program is to increase hands-on/on-the-job experience of recent graduates and promoting employment of women into the work place. The intended result of the program will be the inclusion and retention of better skilled and trained graduates, particularly females, as employees in the energy sector.
Preference will be given to the following majors:
Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Civil, Industrial and Manufacturing, Petroleum and Gas)
Geophysics
Geology
Also accepting limited placements for:
Business Management in Human Resources, Administration/Finance
Economics
Environment/HSEQ
Eligibility Criteria:
The applications are invited from fresh graduates who have completed 16 years of education. At least 50% positions are allocated for female candidates.
Only the recent graduates who have completed 16 years of education and having degrees of Business/Management in Finance, Human Resource or Admin can apply for this Internship Program. Interns will be recruited for placements in energy sector organizations/entities in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Guddu.
Applicants from remote areas and low-income households will be given preference, if all other criteria are met.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for testing and further processing.
Desired Profile
Interns should demonstrate willingness and ability to learn, gain experience and work for the duration of the program.
Interns will be required to complete all tasks, presentations, monitoring and evaluations exercises, pre- and post-program activities and maintain a strict attendance record.
The tasks/responsibilities of Interns may include, but not restricted to, the following assignments.
- Getting connected with the NGOs, Funds, Rural Support Programs within the country.
- Coordinating with international donor agencies, bilateral and multilaterals.
- Create linkages and help locating / getting connected with international funding opportunities for renewable energy development programs.
- Marketing activities
- Invoicing
- Policies and procedures pertaining to HR
- Tasks assigned by the supervisor
