Technical Writer – Documentation Specialist
Fiber Mountain Inc., an award winning, game changing, and emerging data center solutions provider based in the USA is looking for an exceptional Technical Writer? Fiber Mountain’s optical switches and orchestration software is being installed by Fortune 1000 customers. The selected candidate will create technical documents for cutting edge SDN (Software Defined Networking) orchestration management systems and hardware unlike any other on the market today!

Essential Job Responsibilities:

•Develop, write, and edit revisions of technical documents and documentation sets according to specifications and under general supervision while utilizing modern user experience techniques.

•Identify, plan for, and revise technical writing project requirements.

•Serve as a lead writer for complex requirements requiring task and project coordination.

•Regularly participate in product/project team meetings with US-based development team.

•Work with product and technical resources to improve document quality and usability.

Technical Skills:

•Excellent writing skills.

•Experience creating and delivering technical manuals and guides for the technology industry.

•Ability to identify the complex information needs of a target audience and organize and develop a documentation plan that addresses those needs.

•A fundamental understanding of the networking field and of technical writing.

•Data Center knowledge is a plus.

• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Tech Writing tools.

•Must be able to create Technical Writing Templets in Word.•Ability to develop creative graphics (2/3D) as needed for writing is a plus.

•A technical background in software development and the ability to quickly learn new technology.

•The ability to work under tight schedules while providing accurate and precise deliverables.

•Ability to serve as a lead writer, providing training and guidance to junior writers.

•Excellent leadership/teamwork skills.

•Successful completion of several major writing projects.

•Ability to exercise judgment, within generally defined procedures and practices.

•Ability to solve a wide range of problems related to the creation of documentation in creative and practical ways.

Education and Experience:

•Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

•2 + years of hands-on Technical writing experience.

•Content writing experience is a plus.

•Good communications skills in spoken and written English.
