Job Description

• Design and implement components of the IP/MPLS network
• Design, build, and manage network consisting of MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS and layer 2 switching
• Validate technical solutions proposed by the vendor
• Audit network for redundancies and high availability
• Support servers and network services domain [DNS, DHCP and SMTP and Internet Caching]
• Maintain Internet peering with upstream and liaise with APNIC for management of IP resources
• Responsible for Data Center design and capacity planning for various products to be served from IP backbone
• Perform the installation and upgrades of Linux and Unix based hardware and software
• Configure servers, workstations and routers in accordance with established guidelines
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of all Linux and Unix systems
• Evaluate and make recommendations on hardware and software products based on an assessment of operating requirements
• Contribute to the design, build, test, and implementation of applications and systems as needed
• Provide subject matter expertise on Linux and Unix based platforms and technologies

Essential Skills

• Excellent understanding of MPLS, BGP and Layer 2 switched architectures, High Available systems and load balancers
• Technical experience in the installation and operation of large service provider networks including but not limited to hands-on operation of Juniper, Huawei, Cisco Routers, switches and Management tools and network analyzer
• Extensive knowledge of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RIP), Routers, Switches, Firewall, NAT, PAT, Switching Technology [STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST, VSTP], Service Provider technology [MPLS, MP-BGP, L2/L3 VPNs], IPv6, multicasting
• IP Address and data center infrastructure management
• DNS design, administration of authoritative and caching DNS servers, zone distributions, secure DNS zone transfers, forward and reverse zone creation and management, DNS security, refine, DNS views, DNS exceptions, DNS forwarding, private and public DNS domain management
• Experience in virtualized datacenter environments: networking, computing, storage
• Strong distributed datacenter design, architecture, troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of Linux and other Unix-like operating environments including good scripting languages
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand complex instructions and work independently
• Proficient in MS-Office Suite

Desirable Skills

• CCNP, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE/CCIE or equivalent etc., expertise in Platform Knowledge: Cisco, Nortel, Huawei, Juniper (routers, switches), NMS, traffic generators/traffic simulators, protocol analyzers, testers etc.
• Familiarity with various operating environments, shell scripting, Perl/Python, and RPSL
• Windows system administration, network operations and database administration
• VMware ESXi, VMware vSphere Suite
