Job Description: |
Construction Project Manager duties & Responsibilities
1. Project Planning
- Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment).
- Establish timelines and critical milestones.
2. Budgeting & Cost Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Track expenses and handle cost control.
- Approve invoices and payments to contractors/suppliers.
- Forecast potential cost overruns and adjust accordingly.
3. Team Coordination
- Lead and coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Conduct regular meetings to ensure team alignment.
4. Procurement & Contracts
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and change orders.
5. Site Management
- Monitor on-site construction activities.
- Ensure work aligns with project plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Address and resolve issues, delays, and unexpected obstacles.
6. Quality Assurance & Control
- Implement quality control procedures.
- Inspect work progress to ensure standards are met.
- Coordinate testing and inspections.
7. Safety Management
- Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings and training.
- Respond to incidents or accidents on-site.
8. Communication & Reporting
- Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and teams.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates.
- Handle client feedback and manage expectations.
9. Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Adapt project plans as needed based on new risks.
10. Project Closeout
- Oversee final inspections and approvals.
- Ensure punch lists are completed.
- Finalize documentation and hand over completed project to the client.
